About Fairfield County 4-H

Fairfield County 4-H is a century-old, research-based, positive youth development program that empowers young individuals to become self-directed, productive, and contributing members of society. Our mission is to assist all youth ages 5-18 in acquiring knowledge, developing leadership and life skills, and forming attitudes that enable them to thrive within their families and communities.

Get Involved

Joining Fairfield County 4-H opens doors to numerous opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and community engagement. Whether you’re interested in science, agriculture, public speaking, or leadership, there’s a place for you in 4-H.

Programs and Opportunities

4-H Fair: Held annually at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, the Fairfield County 4-H Fair is a highlight event where youth showcase their projects, participate in workshops, and engage in group activities.
Public Speaking Events: 4-H members can enhance their communication skills through public speaking events in various locations, including Bridgeport and Bethel, with county and state-level competitions.
Skill-a-thon and Workshops: Educational events such as the Environmental Skill-a-thon provide opportunities for youth to develop new skills and knowledge in various subject areas.

Ways to Support

Become a sponsor by purchasing an ad: This fundraising initiative runs from December through February 14. Proceeds support Fairfield County 4-H programs and local 4-H activities. 
Become a volunteer club leader.
Serve as a judge for public speaking events or fair exhibits.
