Master Gardener

Cultivating Communities and the Environment Since 1978

Become a Master Gardener

As Master Gardener (MG) interns, participants collaborate with experienced MG mentors in local Extension offices. Together, they tackle gardening questions, diagnose plant issues, and develop sustainable solutions.

In Fairfield County alone, Master Gardeners dedicate thousands of volunteer hours annually, both in the office and in the field, to impactful gardening and environmental projects that benefit our communities.

Sample projects include:

Restoring native habitats
Building pollinator pathways
Educating groups about invasive plants and insects
Growing fresh produce for local food pantries
