Fairfield County Agricultural Extension Center, Inc., the F.C.A.E.C.,Inc. (the Council)
is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Our purpose: is to cooperate with the Agricultural Extension System of the University of Connecticut and the U. S. Department of Agriculture in the planning and conduct of educational programs for the improvement of agriculture, home life and youth of Fairfield County.
- The educational programs are designed to assist in promoting the most profitable and permanent agriculture and/or the highest ideals in home and/or development of youth and adults among any and all residents of Fairfield County.
- Specifically, it includes programs such as 4-H programs, Master Gardener programs, Great Care for Family members, Consumer education programs,Junior and Senior Webmaster and many others.
- Is to maintain its property, equipment, real or personal, on which the educational activities of Extension work may be carried on.
- Is to engage in legislative contacts to maintain and further the Extension System programs in Fairfield County and in Connecticut.
Board members are elected (staggered) for 2-year terms and re-elected for 2-year terms.
The Board meets monthly except for August and December. The Board conducts an Annual Meeting in July.
The Council property at 67-69 Stony Hill Rd., Bethel, CT is managed by the Board of Directors.
